SMW Products   Who we are Our Specialists Our Mission What We Do Contacts Who We Are SMW Engineering (SMWE) started as an affiliate of the oldest operating magnesium production plant in the world -- Solikamsk Magnesium Works (SMW) -- built in 1936 in the former Soviet Union. SMWE collaborates with several government research institutes in Russia and the Ukraine and carries out research and engineering activities in the field of magnesium production. In cooperation with these government institutes and several other international companies SMWE is currently engaged in feasibility studies for magnesium plants in Malaysia, Iceland, Egypt, Canada and other countries. We maintain working relationships with relevant researchers, fabrication facilities and vendors of specialized equipment and contractors providing a well rounded and complete capability in all stages of a project. Our exploration and mining affiliate, SMW Gold, has secured very promising concessions and has on-going activities in Egypt, Russia, Indonesia.
