SMW Engineering (SMWE) collaborates with a number government research institutes in Russia and the Ukraine and carries out research and engineering activities in the field of magnesium, zirconium, titanium and rare earth metals' production and related technologies. SMWE has a number of technology transfer and engineering projects underway and is currently engaged in feasibility studies for magnesium plants in Malaysia, South Africa, Egypt and others.

SMW Engineering also designs and produces a variety of light metallurgical fabrications and products for the transportation industry. It is among world leaders in forged wheels production.

The exploration and mining affiliate, SMW Gold, is developing very promising concessions and has on-going activities in Egypt and Russia.
